Apply by November 12

The first evening of the Quality Forum kicks off with a fun event called Health Talks, on February 26, 2019, at 1900.

Eight speakers share their hopes for health care using the PechaKucha 20×20 presentation style, which means that they show 20 images for 20 seconds each while they’re talking. From emergency physicians to Indo-Folk singers, we’ve had a wide variety of presenters captivate our Health Talks audience.

And now we’re looking for one BC student to take the stage:

  • Who can apply? All students are eligible, from kindergarten to graduate school, as long as they’re currently studying in BC. An interest in health care is an obvious asset!
  • What do we mean by “your hope for health care”? Your hope can be anything: a change you’d like to see in the health care system, a big vision for the future, a change in beliefs or values – it’s your hope.
  • How do you apply? That’s up to you! Previous applications have included an essay, a poem, a whiteboard video, and an infographic. We encourage you to use whatever medium suits your message – feel free to be creative! Whatever you decide, submit your entry by November 12.
  • What will you win? In addition to being a speaker at Health Talks, the winner will receive complimentary registration and travel for the Quality Forum.

Last year’s winner was Candy Tran, a nursing student at BCIT. Her winning entry was an essay about strengthening the partnerships with tomorrow’s health care professionals  – watch her presentation.
