ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Paul is a Pulitzer Prizewinning journalist and best-selling author of three books, including the memoir Where War Lives, which chronicles his struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder. In a career spanning three decades, Paul was a staff foreign correspondent for the Los Angeles Times and the Toronto Star, specializing in war reporting and photography. He was bureau chief in South Africa, Hong Kong, Austria, India and Indonesia. Paul holds a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he was a fellow in the School of African Studies. He has late-stage polycystic kidney disease.
