Allison Muniak
Executive Director, Health System Improvement & Engagement
Allison (Allie) brings to Health Quality BC her passion to build innovative and sustainable solutions in health care systems with an emphasis on partnerships, collaboration, and advancing system improvements. Her experience in health care leadership is considerable, and the tools in her toolbox are many – a rare blend of psychology, engineering, quality, safety, and the application of human factors principles on strategy, team development, and successful project implementation. We’re excited to have her because she believes there is untapped potential to propel transformational system change that will help create a more sustainable health care environment in British Columbia and Canada.
Allie leads HQBC’s Health System Improvement teams for Primary & Community Care; Mental Health, Substance Use, and Long-Term Care; Administrative Burdens for Physicians; and Patient and Public Engagement. She joined Health Quality BC in March 2023 from her previous role as Executive Director for Quality & Patient Safety and Infection Prevention & Control at Vancouver Coastal Health, where she led the quality, safety and clinical risk, infection prevention and control, and experience in care portfolios.
Given Allie’s expertise and strong understanding of the operational realities in our current system, along with her consulting experience and extensive provincial and national partnerships and networks, she is well positioned to lead health systems improvement and engagement for Health Quality BC.
