Leanne Griffiths

Leader, Strategic Initiatives

Leanne joined Health Quality BC in May 2023 as a Leader with the Administrative Burdens team. This project team has been created to identify and develop recommendations that reduce administrative burdens for physicians.

As a Registered Nurse with a speciality in Public Health, Leanne is a clinical professional that has practiced in both the United Kingdom and Canada with experience in acute, community, primary and long-term care. Within the last five years, Leanne worked as a Quality Consultant in the not-for-profit long term care sector. During that time, her focus was on quality assurance, and the development of innovative quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based policy and procedures. Most recently, Leanne provided quality and safety expertise as a Patient Care Quality and Safety Consultant with Interior Health Authority, conducting the review of patient care concerns and patient safety adverse events.

Throughout her career, Leanne has promoted a just culture and an evolving philosophy of continuous quality improvement and patient safety. Her asset-based approach helps to build capacity and empower individuals and teams to drive positive change. Leanne takes a genuine interest in people, investing time to learn about what is important to them, in order to build and sustain engaging and collaborative relationships. She believes that it is vital to listen to the voice of the patient, service user and provider when designing and effecting sustainable systems level change.

As a first-generation settler of English descent, Leanne is privileged to live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Syilx Okanagan peoples. When not at work, Leanne enjoys exploring the Okanagan with her young family, paddle boarding on the many beautiful lakes, curling up with a fantasy or mythological retelling book and dabbling in musical theatre.
