Program Assistant, People & Strategy

Martina Francisco joined Health Quality BC in October 2023 as the Program Assistant for the People and Strategy team. She currently supports the operations and finance team and is grateful for the opportunity to enhance the internal onboarding processes and actively engage in efforts to establish office procedures that are sustainable, culturally safe, and equitable.

Martina holds a Bachelor of Science from UBC with a focus on Neuroscience, Conservation Biology, and Environmental Sciences. She has previously supported the Centre for Rural Health Research, delving into the relationship between climate change and healthcare services in rural BC. Additionally, she worked with UBC Health’s Patient & Community Partnership for Education, contributing to a transformative project that amplified the voices of individuals with disabilities in health professional education.

Motivated by her dedication to advancing sustainable practices within healthcare, Martina advocates for resilient health strategies capable of withstanding environmental challenges, particularly in rural areas. Outside of work, Martina enjoys exploring new destinations, practicing pilates, and cherishing quality moments with loved ones.
