In 2013, together with the BC Ministry of Health, we hosted a BC Critical Care Quality Day which was attended by Intensive Care Unit (ICU) clinicians and administrative leaders from around the province. This meeting identified the effective prevention and management of pain, agitation and delirium as one of the most pressing concerns for the critical care community. Early mobilization was also identified as a priority area for improvement.
