Game On! Using Gamification to Improve Sepsis Care
The BC Sepsis Networks 150 Lives in 150 Days campaign asked participating teams to report every time a sepsis protocol was followed to treat severe sepsis or septic shock. Every 5 sepsis cases entered online saves 1 life.
The campaign used gamification to engage and motivate participants. It was a big success! 32 emergency departments participated and 751 lives were saved. Here’s a poster the campaign displayed at the 2015 International Forum on Quality and Safety.
